The Charlotte Metro Area Charter Honor Band is a nomination based honor band for Middle and High School band students that attend a charter school in the greater Charlotte area (and beyond). There is no audition required, and any student who plays an instrument in a charter school band is eligible for nomination by their band director.

In 2018, a group of band directors saw a need for an “all-county band” style experience for our charter students that many did not receive because we are not a part of the county school system. And so, the CMAC Honor Band was founded.

We currently have 2 levels, Middle School and High School, and are working to add a Middle School beginning band in 2025.
